2016-12-07 05:54 Santa Clauses in Australia

It's already December and my 6th Christmas in Australia is coming.
You may think that enough time has passed to get used to a hot Christmas if I have been living in Australia for over five years but it is not so. I still have a feeling of strangeness for a hot Christmas. Even if I hear one of the famous Christmas songs like "White Christmas", my feeling does not become Christmas mode under the strong sunshine.
I went shopping yesterday and I saw a lady who was preparing for the service of taking a picture with Santa Claus for children. Santa Clauses in Australia wear the same clothes in other countries, a long-sleeved red jacket, black boots and a hat with fluffy white boa. They mostly appear in shopping centres, therefore they can stay in an air conditioning area but I still feel sorry for them. It must be a tough job, isn't it?

It's difficult to enjoy the mood of a white Christmas here but Aussies enjoy the Australian way of Christmas. I love to see Australian Christmas cards. I saw several funny pictures; Santa Claus enjoys surfing, wearing sun glasses, short pants with a beer bottle in his hand or riding on a sled that is pulled by kangaroos.
I think Santa Claus comes from Finland but he seems to be having a good time with the Aussie style Christmas here. When in Australia, do as the Aussies do! This is a tip to enjoy a summer Christmas.

I love birds. There are lots of wild birds around here and I see them every day. About one month ago, I noticed that my hanging basket was getting poor-looking day by day. I wondered what happened to my basket.

A few days later, I saw a tiny brown bird pulling a fiber from the hanging basket's palm. Well, I was not happy with the shabby hanging basket but once I noticed the reason of the losing fibers, I felt happy.

The birds were Superb Fairy-wren. They are tiny and beautiful birds, especially the males have beautiful blue feathers. Yesterday, I heard a little peep from the hedge. I wish I had a 200mm lens of my camera.

My husband and I finally started selling our puzzle products from 13th November on eBay. Looking at the computer screen that displays the page of our eBay's page, I am a little relieved. We had many things that we didn't know much about; eBay, Paypal, establishing company and so on. We have struggled through somehow. Our online shop is very small and there are only two kinds of product on our page, and I think it should be difficult to get the customer's attention.

Since we have started selling, I have been checking the email from eBay often. I had been hoping that someone would order our products and my dream came true yesterday! We have got orders. We were so happy and packed all the puzzles that were ordered in a box and went to the local post office quickly.
The Christmas season is coming and I hope the customers who ordered our puzzles are able to enjoy them during the Christmas holidays.
